Back in 2017, when Untold International was applying for its own nonprofit status, we found ourselves in need of officers, including a treasurer. I reached out to my oldest and closest friend, Dustin Wilson, who had experience as the CFO of a startup and a head for numbers. Although Dustin didn’t have a particular passion for language arts or West Africa, he stepped in to help us out, making us legitimate, and stewarding our funds well for seven years—longer than any of us really thought he would. I’m extremely grateful to Dustin for his help, his loyalty, and his service to Untold, which provided a stable foundation during some tough years that could have sunk our young, small organization. His friendship has been a rock for me in more ways than I can list here.
When it became apparent that Untold was exiting a period of lying low (which we were forced to do during the COVID-19 pandemic) and was ready to start growing, Dustin realized it was time for him to pass the baton. He agreed to stay on as long as it took to find and integrate his replacement. Dustin suggested William Fulton, a mutual friend, as a potential candidate, to which I said, “Yes! Will! Why didn’t I think of that earlier?!”

Will and I met as undergraduates at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, USA. He and Kaitlyn (the other co-founder of Untold) co-founded an English Club at Regis, which continued flourishing after Will graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in both English and Mathematics (and a minor in Spanish). He also holds a Master of Science in Mathematics from Emporia State University. He brings 12 years of experience in education teaching several subjects at a variety of levels and is currently a language arts teacher at Angevine Middle School in Lafayette, Colorado. He and his wife, Kelseigh, live in Erie, Colorado with their two cats. Another cool thing about Will is that he speaks three languages (English, Spanish, and French) and has endorsements for teaching two of them, aligning with Untold’s values of multilingualism in education.
Will has been a dedicated supporter of Untold for years—I still remember how he put in the biggest, fastest order when we opened our Threadless store of Untold merchandise. He’s passionate about language arts, is a fantastic teacher, is excellent at math and organizing data, enjoys research, reads voraciously, is highly committed and responsive, and is always ready to learn new things. I have an enormous amount of respect for Will, and I’m so excited that he has accepted the board’s offer to join as the treasurer. In the months since joining the board, Will has demonstrated exactly the kind of engagement and quality of work I’ve come to expect from him. I’m incredibly grateful to him for donating his time and talents to our organization. With Will as our treasurer, I believe Untold will be able to grow into its next iteration, and I’m excited for you all to see what that looks like!
